JANUARY WRAP-UP

IN JANUARY

I started winter term! January 8th was when winter term started at my school so far it's been good! I'm taking a lot of nutrition and health classes this term which have been great. I barely feel like I am working because learning about these topics is so interesting. We are now in week four and honestly, I don't know how we are already almost at midterms!!

My relationship with God has been growing. The last month has been so surprisingly wonderful when it comes to faith. The messages and things I am learning about God are unbelievable. This month was very much a learning experience for me because I worked on finding ways that I can learn about God in a way that keeps me engaged. THIS LAST WEEK HAS BEEN CRAZY. Just as I was starting to drifting off the path God found a way to communicate with me through others inspiring words. I can not tell you how amazing this was.

My sister and I have the house to ourselves for a week- My mom went out of town to take care of my aunt who isn't doing the best health wise and left my sister and me at home. I feel like a college student who lives in dorms. It was kind of nice living on my own but I miss my mother.

Started waking up early. This is the most helpful thing that I have done. Getting up early to have a productive day is the most amazing thing. I think I'll end up writing a post about that but it's been great!

JOURNAL SNIPPETS

"I took some time to color while listening to music and I realized all the thoughts that came to my mind. Instead of listening to the music I was distracted by thinking of what the new term will be like."

"The window gives me lots of clouds to look at while the setting sun dances off the corner of my right eye... In a moment like this, I am in peace. Able to breathe, look out the window, and just forget."

"Lauren put my girl scout vest on. She points to the numbers on the vest, "I'm girl scout One thousand two hundred and three." I start to laugh because she's pointing at the troop number."

"The nice thing about faith is that a lot of the time when you put matters into God's hand's things seem to piece together more easily. Also by doing that, saying whatever is going on is in the hands of God, allows for a more purposeful feeling to the things you are doing."

"Right now I am at a good balance of social, confident, and creative. No crazy ideas in my mind (some fast thoughts about shoes) but overall pretty mentally stable. Winter term is good. God is good."

YEARLY GOAL PROGRESS

I've been writing in my journal.Writing in a journal has helped me immensely. I feel that I can sort through all the thoughts in my head in one place. If it wasn't for journaling this month, I think I would have had a harder time figuring out where my heart and head was at.

Have deleted "really" out of sentences to many times! IT'S HAPPENED SO OFTEN.  I would be texting someone and realize I said something was really something. So I'd have to go back and delete the word!! Hopefully, it'll happen less. This word journey has also made me realize that I say "I don't know" more often than I'd like to.

GOD. Wow, have my eyes been opened this month by how amazing God can be. I'm really liking taking a journey into my faith.

CONCLUSION

SO JANUARY HAS BEEN SUPER AWESOME. It was a perfect start to the year. This month was mellow but also inspiring. I learned new things about myself and what I believe in. I do feel like I have grown as an individual. I'm looking forward to the things I am going to do next month!

  4. Sounds like January was a good month for you! That forth journal snippet down is so true <3 So much we have to do daily is pretty mundane, but believing God has everything in His hands and trusting that He is taking care of the bigger picture definitely gives everything more meaning. Reminds me of part of a verse that says, 'Nothing done for the Lord is ever useless' (Corinthians 15:58).

I'm glad Winter Term is going well for you. It is so fun learning when you're fascinated with the subject matter =)

  5. I need to make waking early a habit - it's great when I do it, but then I don't go to bed early, and that can only last so long. I'm glad you're progressing with your goals, and it's so encouraging to hear of your journey with God. Happy February! xx

  9. it's amazing how well you're doing at the start of 2018 - I've barely made any progress but i'm happy that you are! I've tried journaling and cathartically writing down my thoughts, but oftentimes I struggle with keeping it up. So I wanna know...how do you do it??
