Thankfulness Thursday

I'm thankful for sleep. When daylight's saving ended I found it was easier to go to bed at an earlier time. With the darkness approaching at sooner time the evenings feel long. I often find myself falling asleep an hour earlier than I have been. (I'd still be going to sleep at the same time if the time didn't change) Getting under warm blankets is the best feeling.

I'm thankful for music. A few days ago I tuned my ukulele and looked for some new songs to learn. I spent some time learning different chords and enjoying the sound of a newly tuned ukulele. What I did yesterday made me laugh. I YouTube searched karaoke and sang along to a few songs. I use to do that all the time when I was younger! It was funny to listen to my out of tune voice. I got a good laugh out of it.

I'm thankful for kind people. Today, I got onto the bus and saw that almost every seat was full. It's crazy scary to stand on a moving bus that makes abrupt stops. I walked to a girl who had a seat on the inside of her open and asked if I could sit there and she said it was wet. I thought I'd have to stand the whole bus ride but the girl pulled out a tissue from her bag and wiped the water off the seat so that I could sit down next to her. That was such a kind thing for her to do.

  1. I like this! (I'm joining in with Grace's series too, this week at least.) Sleep is so good. And I didn't know you played ukulele! It's a fun instrument - I'd like to learn at some stage. And yes, it always touches me so much when someone goes out of their way to be kind. Thanks for this post! xx

  8. EEK! It's been like a month since I've read your blog V :( (Be ready for several comments from me as I catch up)

Back to the post, music is something I too am grateful for as without music there would be rather little enjoyment in our lives.

  9. I'm also grateful for kind people, as well, and that girl did a good thing. ^.^ We need more kind people than ever, especially with how everything has been lately going on in the world...

P.S. I'm doing the Blogger Yearbook again this year! The deadline is coming soon-- I've been incognito from the blogging world because the off-line life has been beckoning me and thus unable to promote it as much (thus why this seems kind of last minute and out of place, which I apologize for) but it would be really neat for you to do it again! The post about it is here and the form is here. >.< Can't wait to hear back from you!

    1. We really do need more kind people. It sometimes feels rare that something nice does happen to one.

Thank you for reaching out to me about this! I saw the post a while ago but haven't had the time to sign up. I'll do that as soon as I can. Thanks Abigail!

  10. Listing out things we're thankful for is really important for me because I tend to get caught up in what's going wrong and forget what's actually going right. Every time I journal I write down at least 5 things I'm grateful for at the moment and it really centers me and helps me calm down. Loved this post! :)
