Possibility and Chance

Ever think about how your possibilities are bigger than you can imagine? I've been thinking about that, a lot.

Everyone is talking about moving on to college, they have a college and major in mind; which is good, but I see things differently. I see so many possibilities, big or small. Not just college; or one pathway. I see many opportunities and too many to choose just one from. Choosing a pathway after highschool is where the realtity of creating a life all seems to start. I want to have many options open to me. Only problem with options is the fact im very indecisive. I probably don't know half the things I could do once I graduate.

Then, there are the possibilities of chance. Chance is an incredible thing, if you have the right mindset you can focus on the positive possibilities and the chance of them happening. Possibility is taking a chance on something, anything, for the better. "There is a fair possibility my life will be great, and I'm taking a chance on it." There are an infinite of possibilities, I like knowing that. I find it comforting to know there are possibilities for you and me.

Remember when your math teacher in the 7th grade told you to reach into a bag filled with different colored marbles and asked what the possibilities of getting a purple marble was? You probably knew what that possibilty was.

Now, imagine not knowing how many different colored marbles and how many of each color are in that bag. The bag is similar to the possibilities you get in life; How many, big or small. In life you don't know how big or small a possibility is. It could be a bag filled of only purple marbles or a select few purple marbles. This is what you take a chance on when you choose to have faith in the possibilty.

This may seem risky, but the chances are generally always bigger than you can imagine. That's what I like about possibility. Something so unlikely to happen could have a huge possibility of happening. You simply musy take a leap and trust in the possibilty.

Much love,
Vanessa

  1. That's exactly what I'm scared of when high school ends and building my life supposedly starts. There are so many possibilities and choices, and I'm glad I have all these opportunities, but which one do I choose? Will I forever be thinking of the what ifs of all those other possibilities I didn't know about? Lately I've realised that I'm not a risk taker, I don't go for things. I just sit and let the minuscule possibilities happen - seeing as I don't go after anything I want - and what about all those possibilities that I never let happen?

    1. I'm scared of starting my life and then finding out I made the wrong choice, you can always start over. Just because you studied something for a few years doesn't mean you have to pursue that. At any given time you can change jobs, move, or go back to school. May that be hard, yes. Will it be worth it, of course. Do whatever makes you content.

    1. Yet, this doesn't just apply to finding out what you want to do after school. Possibilities can apply to everyday things too!

  3. GAH. this was a super encouraging post, Vanessa! Well said. :) It's true, there are so many possibilities and you never know what's waiting for you (or what you might happen to just FALL IN LOVE WITH) until you try it!! Plus we've got forever to try different things... I think it's sad to see people pick just one thing and stick with it their whole lives just because they were timid to try something daring and different and quite possibly amazing.

    anyway. I'll stop ranting. XD

    peace out pineapple,

  4. I found this post very relatable. I constantly think about what I'm going to do, instead of the great things I'm doing now. I'm scared that by the time I graduate high school I'm going to change my mind about what I want to do. I know that this is okay, but I feel like that everything I've done in preparation will be a waste. Arghhh high school can be so crazy sometimes!

    1. High school puts so much pressure on choosing something and sicking with it. Don't feel back if you change the direction your going in. Who knows what you are preparing your self for now could be useful then too!
