Staying Healthy

It's so hard to be healthy. I had it together a while ago then got lazy and careless. I need to fix this. With that being said, I am writing on my blog to help me gain focus on eating healthier.

So why is it so hard to eat healthy?
We are influenced by the people around us and society. Society advertises foods that aren't good for your body and it becomes easy to fall into their trap when all of your friends are eating processed foods that are high in salt, sugar, and fat. Eating healthy isn't nearly as advertised as eating unhealthy. It's really unfortunate.

I believe because of these two reasons (the people around us and advertisement) people have a really difficult time eating healthy, myself included. There are so many other factors of why it is hard to stay healthy, but to keep this brief I quickly pointed out these two reasons.

What can I do?
There are a lot of things you can do to eat healthy. One of the easiest ways to stay healthy is to say no to fast food. Fast food is one of the worst foods you can eat, staying away from these foods is a great start. You can also stay away from as many processed foods as possible. This is a little harder to do, but it is super helpful one you get it down. Remember to eat lots of fruits, vegetables, grains, and meats. Don't forget water!

If your like me a post saying what your going to do about your health may help too! It's all about what works for you.

My plan:
I want to stay away from as many prosseced foods as possible, eating more fruits and veggies and especially drinking water. Since the holidays are coming up it will be difficult to stay away from sugary good and unhealthy meals but my plan for this is to only have a cheat meal if I'm out with friends, at a family gathering or something social. Even then I need to remember to keep things in moderation... I make it sound like I'm going to starve myself... Trust me I won't!

I apologize for this rambly kind of post, hopefully you learned a thing or two. Be looking forward to my next post, it should be an enjoyable post! Have a lovely week!
<3,
Vanessa

  1. Thank you for this eye-opening post, Vanessa! You made me aware of how unhealthy I eat. I ought to say no to fast food more often. Good luck on putting your plan into action! Staying healthy is important.

  2. I honestly have the worst relationship with food, and when I make myself promises exactly like these, those cheat meals happen every day and not in a controlled way. But if you distract yourself with exciting events and more important things, sometimes it works.

  3. I think the key is to find the balance. Having sweets or an unhealthy takeaway is fine once in while, as long as you consume it in moderation. Same goes for anything else, as long as you don't overdo it, it's fine.
I hope you find a way that you can be healthy and happy and feel good about yourself!

  4. Yeahhh, I totally get you... I want to live healthy, but life just gets in the way. People, places, advertisements, and activities somehow or other just entice you to ditch the healthy lifestyle and go with the flow. >< ~le sigh~

Well, even though I find it extremely hard to cut the processed and unhealthy foods from my diet, I am actually able to stick to a proper exercise routine. :) So at least I'm working towards a healthier lifestyle, hehe! :P

    1. Maybe I need to live by myself in the woods!... No just kidding could never do that. That's awesome you can keep up with exercise! Having a good exercise routine takes a lot of commitment. Keep it up!

  5. In the past I've gone through phases of excessively calorie counting to eating more than about 19 men combined. I think things are a bit more balanced now; I do have the odd treat, though alongside the good stuff too - and I'm much happier for it.

I wish you the best of luck, and hope that your prospective confidence is able to motivate you.

  8. I won't say I'm the healthiest eater, because I snack on gummy bears and crisps all the time, but I avoid places like McDonalds and Pizza Hut like the plague. That's not all, though, and I admire your plan! I don't drink nearly enough water.
I'm going to try to be healthier too. You've motivated me :)

  9. Staying healthy is very important, and I try hard. Mostly I succeed, but of course, none of us can hold out forever, and once in awhile I let myself eat a burger with my sister or a slice of cake with a friend. Because, even if fast foods or sugary foods are no good for you, I think it's okay to have them once in awhile. It makes it more special, anyways.

Good luck with your plan, it's a good one.

  11. This is an inspiring post. I have grown up in a very health conscious family, and I've always been trained to exercise a lot and eat healthy, but I understand how it can be a struggle! One interesting strategy I heard is that you only eat junk food if you are treating someone else to it. So like if you take your friends to pizza, then you can eat it too. I think that's a neat way to keep things in moderation. Keep up the amazing posts! Love your blog as usual !!
